DailyPhotos > Nick Wrzesinski  > Photography > Nearly Nightly
Since I go many weeks without picking up my camera I figured something needed to be done about it. I have no illusions that I will actually do this ever day but I'll at least give it a try. Who knows, maybe I'll learn something along the way, or you might learn something about me.

There are no set rules for me to do this but I'll force myself to be in at least some of the photos since I'm never in any pictures.

Feel free to Comment on or Critique any of the images.

Yesterdays daily is new because I didn't have internet access last night so I couldn't upload it until today so go take a look.

Today was an early day. We woke up at a quarter to 5 to get to Monument Valley by 6AM. I think it paid off from the photos I got but I think I screwed up. The 24 T/S is great but it is easy to accidentally knock it so it Tilts when you don't want it to. So I think many of my pre-dawn shots are garbage :(

After Monument Valley I went to Valley of the Gods, Moki Dugway, Goosenecks, back to Monument Valley, and finally to Natural Bridges National Monument. BTW don't go to Natural Bridges for sunset, it is too deep to get any sun in the canyons. I'm now in Moab and about to go to sleep. In the morning we go to Mesa Arch in Canyonlands for sunrise and then back to Moab to meet the rest of the folks coming for the annual Dgrin/SmugMug shootout.

I didn't have internet to upload this on time so it's a day late. Today we were in New Mexico and Arizona. This one is from the drive to the hotel. It's hard to find a hotel room in Kayenta AZ at 9:30 at night. We finally found a hotel room 100 miles North in Blanding UT. It worked out OK in the end, we just ended up getting there late and got 4 hours of sleep before getting up at 4:30AM to get sunrise at Monument Valley.

For anyone interested this is 6 images stitched. No editing besides the stitch. I once again used the 24 T/S. I'm addicted.

Oops, it looks like I forgot to caption this one when I uploaded it. This is moss and it is also a three image stitch using the 24mm T/S, no cropping. Anyone see a theme with my dailies? I love this lens.

This was taken in the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico off of Highway 4.

We finally got to a location early enough to catch sunrise and this is what we got. Overcast. Blah!

This is Maroon Bells outside of Aspen CO. It's a nice location and would have been great if there was light but this is what I ended up with. It's a three shot stitch with the 24mm T/S. The horizon is level, the lake is just closer on the left so it looks crooked. The color of the trees is just great but there hasn't been any sun to make the Aspen glow. Maybe tomorrow.

We also went to Great Sand Dunes Wilderness today. It's quite impressive but also needs good light which we didn't have. Now we are in Albuquerque New Mexico. We came here for the hot air balloon festival but it's storming and will probably be canceled in the morning. So we'll have to find something else to do tomorrow. There's so much to see down here that that shouldn't be a problem though. So wish us luck with the weather.

This is Nymph Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's a three landscape vertical stitch using the 24mm T/S. We didn't quite make it for sunrise but I it was still beautiful and I got some nice photos. I need a tether on my because I keep wandering off and Adam has to go looking for me. This is two days in a row I wondered off the trail on my own but I think I got some great photos because of it. I really like RMNP. I'll definitely come back here. Someone needs to move to Colorado so I have a reason to visit. Tonight we are in Carbondale CO and I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring, hopefully good weather.

Rocky Mountain National Park is just beautiful! Here's some fall color for you to look at. This is a 12 vertical image stitch. I really like pano's as you'll see in the next couple of weeks. We also saw Elk in rut, a couple coyotes, a controlled burn, and a bunch of waterfalls at the end of the day. Not much processing done on this one, just stitched and two simple curve adjustment payers. I'll probably play with it more when I get home.

Somewhere in Nebraska this old church sits next to the highway. We pulled over and jumped out walking through the overgrown wayside to the barb wire fence. This is one of the first images I've taken with my newly converted 30D. I go the Maxmax 830nm IR filter put in and I have to say I like it so far.

Time to go to sleep, it's 1:45AM local time in Golden Colorado and we just got to the hotel. Adam and Schwartzy have driven almost 1000 miles today and I've been with them for over 800 of those. Wish us luck with the weather in the morning. Rockey Mountain National Park awaits us.

It's been a really long time since I've updated this gallery but oh well I never said I'd be good at this Daily thing. I'm currently on my way to the SmugMug Shootout in Moab UT so I figured this was as good a time as any to start updating this again.

I'm on the road and have spent the last couple days in Iowa at my uncle Mikes house. I'm still learning how to use the 24mm T/S but I like it so far. The is a 6 image stitch using it. I'm waiting for Adam and Schwartzy right now so we can make the trip to Colorado. I'm really looking forward to Colorado. It'll be my first time there and the colors should be at their peak right now. I think I should have brought a jacket.

If you saw this post you'd know that this is packed for my fridge. I went to the Oak Park Farmers Market today and picked up some produce. It's some good stuff. The brown bag is Crimini mushrooms, not leftovers. I thought it was kind of interesting that we got the second to last quart of jalapenos. I guess since the salmonella scare with jalapenos people are buying them locally now. Time to go to sleep. Yes it's 11:30AM but I once again stayed out too late and am suffering the consequences by sleeping through my day off.
