Since I go many weeks without picking up my camera I figured something needed to be done about it. I have no illusions that I will actually do this ever day but I'll at least give it a try. Who knows, maybe I'll learn something along the way, or you might learn something about me.

There are no set rules for me to do this but I'll force myself to be in at least some of the photos since I'm never in any pictures.

This is a party weekend with my family. Today I had a graduation party in the afternoon and a retirement party in the evening. Both were fun. The retirement party was a surprise party and my uncle was mad because he ate too much at the graduation party so he was full for his retirement party. It was nice outside for the most part and at one point it rained for a minute and then there was a large rainbow across the entire sky. Overall it was a pretty good day.

Happy friday the 13th! It's a good day for me but not so much for my boss. I put in my notice at work today and it was a lot like breaking up from a long relationship. I enjoyed my job and the coworkers at it but sometimes you need to take a leap of faith and go for what you think is best for you. Welcome to my new home office. Well the only thing new about it is that it's where I'll be working from. I really need to clean my desk off don't I? If it's not obvious enough, can anyone guess who my new employer is?

For anyone that wants a free SmugMug camera strap click here. They are very nice camera straps.

"you were sitting, your fingers like fuses your eyes were cinnamon" Can anyone name the song? One of my favorite lines from a song.

For the last couple of days my fingers have been like fuses, fidgety and ready to explode. I've been waiting for something to happen and it finally is. I'll let you know what it is tomorrow after I've taken care of one final step.

I'm really not to fond of the picture but it's all I could come up with.

A friend was in town this week from Edmonton so I played tour guide for a couple hours. It was fun and great to see her. The weather was fantastic and there were even fireworks over Navy Pier. Here's one of the shots I got from Buckingham Fountain. This was the first time I'd taken pictures of it at night. I really missed my BH-40 tonight. The other ballhead I have just wasn't cutting it. Off it goes back to RRS to get fixed tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to another fantastic wedding. This time it was the area so it was nice not to have a 7 hour car ride home the day after. Today I culled the photos from yesterday, fell asleep a couple times on the couch, went for coffee with my ma, and finally ended up at the Chicago Blues Festival in Grant Park. The music was good, BB King was the main act and was great. He plays so effortlessly it's amazing to watch. The sound was too quiet but I can't really complain since it's a free show. The weather has been hot and miserably humid here the last couple of days so it was nice that it cooled off some today and the humidity was bearable. This is sunset from Grant Park as we listened to great Blues.

I went to the Chicago Gaels game today. Their home field is at my old high school so we thought it might be fun. They tried but the Indiana Lionesses are a more experienced and well rounded team. They lost 0-3. This was one of the few shots they got on goal and it was stopped. I kind of liked the expression on the ball girls face on the left. This was the first time I've taken any type of sports pictures before. I was just a spectator sitting in the stands. If you want to see more the gallery is here.

Moving day for a friend. All I had to do was unload since they loaded up the truck in the morning. Her new apartment is really nice and the windows are awesome. The apartment is so bright with natural light and with the breeze blowing through the apartment it was very relaxing. She does have one of the heaviest couches I've ever moved. It took 4 of us to get it up to the 4th floor, not very fun.

I gave something back today that I've had for a long time. It is one of a few items I have left from a very happy time in my life. I thought giving it back was the right thing to do but now I feel like I've given away a cherished memory that I won't ever get back. I wish I didn't feel so awkward and could just act normal about it for once.

Some friends are in town from out of state so we headed to the bar for some beers, shots and darts. Later on we made a late night run to get football sized burritos that we ate outside on the porch. The little Fuji I bought is convenient but I miss the DSLR when I don't have it.

This is how I spend most of my day. Sitting in a dark room in front of two monitors. This is work. Not very exciting is it. I can't complain though. The work is good and the people are great. We're moving to a new building sometime in the next year or so. It will be good for the company but the drive will go from 20 minutes to almost an hour for me. That sucks. But it'll be further for others.
