Since I go many weeks without picking up my camera I figured something needed to be done about it. I have no illusions that I will actually do this ever day but I'll at least give it a try. Who knows, maybe I'll learn something along the way, or you might learn something about me.

There are no set rules for me to do this but I'll force myself to be in at least some of the photos since I'm never in any pictures.

Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-27 (Day 25)

I really wasn't in the mood to take a picture today. I've been surrounded by friends for the past 5 days and then today I woke up alone in my apartment and had to go to work. I stayed in bed as long as I could, not because I was tired but because I just didn't want to face the world today, not alone. Then my friend invited me over to watch some TV and just hang out after work and I felt a little better. When I got home I had a package waiting for me. Some gear I had lent to a friend. But then I opened it up and it brought a huge grin to my face. 6 wee bottles of Scotch Whisky and a Vegetarian Haggis. I went from feeling crappy and almost not taking a picture for the first time in almost a month to smiling and continuing something I started because of her. Thanks Steph, you really made my day. This also reminds me that I have a couple things I need to put in the mail.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-26 (Day 24)

Memorial Day was uneventful. My family BBQ'd and I also went to my friends parents for a short visit. I haven't been for a bike ride in a while so I decided it was about time. I did part of the Salt Creek trail which goes from the Brookfield Zoo to Oak Brook. They recently extended it so it's 7.1 miles each way now. I didn't realize that until I came to the end and it was about a mile further than when I was on it last year. I left the house too late and ended up riding last 5 miles or so of the trail in the dark without a flashlight and in the forest. I almost ran into a deer and a couple others that shouldn't have been on the trail either without lights. Oops. So in all I rode about 17 miles today. The most I've done in one day is about 20 miles so I'm getting close to that point. By the time I got home I still felt good and could have kept going but I had things to do at home.

I did run out of water after about 10 miles so I was pretty thirsty when I got home. So me and Molly drank our fill and I did laundry and other chores I've been neglecting.

I've also been neglecting to upload pictures on here since Friday so look back a couple and see what I've been up to in Minnesota over the weekend.

Driving home 7 hours after having a wedding the day before is not recommended. Especially when the afterparty was in your hotel room.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-24 (Day 22)

The day of the wedding, the reason for my trip to Minnesota. It was outside and the weather was fantastic. The wedding was very laid back and extremely fun. This is from the elevator in the hotel at the end of the night. At the end of the reception the groom got on the mic and thanked everyone for coming, that is was the last song and finally that the party was moving to room 255 and 257. Adjoining rooms at the hotel that happened to be mine and my friends from Chicago. It was a long night. I need a fisheye.

I was a tourist today in Minneapolis and St. Paul. I went to all the required spots such at the State Capital, St. Paul Cathedral, the Cherry in the Spoon, and Minnehaha falls. This is at St. Paul Cathedral. This place is huge and very pretty. It's worth going to if you're in the area, regardless of faith.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-22 (Day 20)

I'm in St. Paul Minnesota for my friends wedding. I got a speeding ticket on the way up here but oh well, stuff happens. I've known the Minnesotans for a long time and it's been to long since I've been up here. It'll be a fun wedding on Saturday. Hopefully the weather stays nice cause it's outside.

Isn't this what everyones B&H box looks like when they open it up? I got some new toys and will be putting them through their paces over the next couple days. So far I like them a lot. I also got a box from RRS, Borrowglass.com, and Phoxle. It's going to be a busy weekend.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-20 (Day 18)

Just another Tuesday night at the bar. No self portrait today. I wasn't in the mood.
Nick Wrzesinski > 2008-05-19 (Day 17)

I know this shot has been done to death but I wanted to try it on my own as a self portrait. It's incredibly difficult to get in focus with a 180mm Macro lens. This is about 1:1.5 and slightly cropped. It took about 70 shots to get this one that is in relatively good focus. I should also note that getting a pleasing light in the eye is also kind of hard. I puller out an AB800 for this one and think I am now slightly blind from triggering a strobe into my own eye at that close of a distance.

I think I might try this one again but get both eyes in the frame cause I think just one eye is a little weird to look at.

The reason for this shot tonight is that there are certain eyes I miss and want to gaze into again. My favorite memory is staring into someones eyes once upon a time. And tonight I was thinking of those eyes so you get to stare into my eye instead.

Do you ever have music or lyrics trigger a memory or emotion? I seem to all the time. Tonight it was "I Still Miss Someone" by Johnny Cash off of Live at Folsom Prison.
